Jared and I decided in December that if we don’t get a month ahead with our money (so that we have full envelopes at the beginning of each month) that he will look into other options of work. We all know how much he LOVES being freelance so I’m really pulling for this to work out.
Our budget is already squeezed tight so it’s not like he has to bring in THAT much money. I guess that is not helping his case. 🙁 He has done really well for the past 6 months. (Since he stopped working that contract job just before Jaidan’s 1st birthday in August) MOST of that reason is because we are doing the envelope system. I must have been pretty clueless how money works before if we are now ‘okay’ AND have paid off at least 6K towards debt!!
It’s the 9th day of the month & once again no money is in our possession. <sigh> With all this couponing I’ve been doing we actually had ‘some’ leftover from January for groceries, but this is not fun to do every month!
Monday Jared had a meeting with a client for a website. The client said it was a ‘go’, but in this business you believe it when you see it. It may happen, eventually, but you can’t count on it til it’s there. This is a huge website and it will PUT US AHEAD into March!! So come on Mr. Man!!! Come on February!! (And actually Jared has about $20K out in proposals right now… somebody make a move!! It’s your turn!! We want to fill our envelopes, pay our bills, and pay off this student loan we are supposed to pay off this month. Yes! It’s the month we completely pay off student loan #1!!!)
Will you please say a prayer that he gets this, and quick!!! 🙂 God WILL provide. God ALWAYS provides. I’m waiting patiently. Please!! Thank you in advance.
In the meantime, I made us some new envelopes. Ours were wearing thin. (Maybe that’s where all our money went)
See how much cuter my new ones are. 🙂
Our cute new envelopes!!
