Our first full day in New York!
This is not the NY that everyone may be thinking. We are not in the city. We are way out in the boondocks… like for real country. It’s by the amish people! This is my uncle, and the view from their upper deck…
THURSDAY MAY 26th
We slept in this morning until about 10:30. It was soooo nice not having an alarm go off!! Everyone went to work so we had the house to ourselves. Jaidan had some yogurt on an english muffin, me and Jared had an english muffin and some cereal.
We unpacked our suit cases and cleaned up our room we are staying in. We all slept great last night! About 3:00 we went to visit my grandpa & Faye. That was a nice visit too. Jaidan played with Vance’s toys & grandpa is the funniest guy ever. He’s not what you are thinking of a grandpa. He is young at heart and truthfully he doesn’t look a day over 50 and he’s 72! He will be 73 the day after we leave. 🙁 We stayed for dinner and had stuffed peppers. Umm hello where have you been all my life!? It had rice hamburger meat and salsa in it and cooked in the crock pot. The pepper was
al dente as Faye called it and oh-so-yummy! We had salad and rolls to go with it.
Btw, this is his new ‘smile’. lol.
It started to storm and after a little shower (about 8:00) we left to go to the store for some snacks & disposable diapers and then back to A. Cindys. We stopped at CVS on the way because a WalMart or Target was a little more out of the way. Plus we had a $7.99 ECB to use. I also had a $3 off coupon for Huggies. Boring story short, we ended up getting CVS brand diapers because they were MUCH CHEAPER! Crazy story though… my grandpa called about 30 minutes after we had left and said that a TREE had just fallen in front of the house (where we were just parked) Ahh, I’m so glad we left when we did. Grandma would NOT have liked a tree in her car!
When we got back to my aunts house though all the lights were off. I knew they don’t go to bed at 9pm so I wasn’t sure why it was so dark. Turns our the power was out because my aunt had met me at the bottom of the stairs with a lit candle. I know, boring story, but it’s what I want to remember. 🙂
My cousin showed me her light up thumbs that she is performing to sell at her new part time job at FAO Schwartz in NYC. She lives there and goes to school there but is home for the week. Okay enough for today!
