For the past couple of years now I’ve been wanting to re-do my moms laundry room. I told myself the next time she goes out of town it will be my project. She took her summer vacation this year the same time we took ours to the beach so that didn’t work out. Well they decided to take a weekend long vacation up to Arkansas to stay in a cabin so I jumped at the chance to tackle this project!
Whenever my sisters go away for the weekend or week my mom likes to spend her whole time cleaning out and organizing their rooms. It cracks me up hearing her say ‘THEY HAVE SO MUCH JUNK”… because while we were working yesterday I couldn’t say it enough… SHE HAS SO MUCH JUNK! LoL.
Her laundry room is the size of a small bedroom. It has SO MUCH possibility! She is always so busy that stuff just keeps being added into piles. I’m so glad to be able to take some of my $ and time and do for her what she has always done for us. 🙂
They left yesterday morning & I took off work early (noon) to go and get started. My sister, Amanda is THE BEST cleaner/organizer ever! (Almost to a fault, hehe) I SOOO couldn’t have made it last night without her. While we accomplished MUCH, we are not even half way through. Jared went over this morning to prime the walls. It’s the old dark paneling. We were actually supposed to get the priming done last night but unexpected events were preventing that! First the dog stepped in the paint and we had paw prints to clean up… and then the light bulb blew out & we had no idea where the extra bulbs were. Oy! This is a time crunched project since they will be back Sunday night!
I want to show you the before pictures but I’m afraid. There is SO much stuff in the pictures it’s almost like an episode of hoarders. And I don’t want my mom to be embarrassed, but it’s not completely her fault. She’s a busy momma!! 🙂 A lot of it is ‘stuff I might need’ or project stuff she started or stuff that she finds on sale. It’s fine to have those things but if they are not organized they will never come in handy. Plus we have lived in this house for like 15 years? Much to be accumlated in that amount of time.
Oh and SHHH! It’s a surprise! 🙂
