FPU: Sept Update #2
September 24, 2011

Another update for the month of September! As of this month we are DEBT FREE and we’ve also managed to get some into our Emergency Fund as part of Baby Step 3 of FPU!

Here’s how God has blessed us this month:

  • Β Jared’s dad & step-mom were upgrading their appliances so they gave us their ‘old’ stove. It was newer than ours so we got their old one and sold ours! $125 goes into our savings fund. Thanks again my lovely in-laws. πŸ™‚
  • Counted change= $11.60
  • Since a shoe was more important than a friendship I am no longer in a wedding that I had an envelope for. That’s $120 that went straight to savings along with the half of the dress that was refunded to me! Another $40. I couldn’t be happier!
  • And then the extra that I got from working that would normally go to debt went to savings! It was SOOOO exciting being able to automatically transfer that money to MYSELF rather than transfer to Jared, wait for it to process, then he schedules the student loan 2 days in advance and then wait 3-5 business days for it to process. ((We have separate accounts because mine was a free military account from forever ago and his was a free perky student account and when we got married we tried to join our accounts but we couldn’t with his student account so we just left it alone. We both share the same money though. Just thought I’d clarify that. πŸ™‚ ))
  • Looks like a total of 1,186.34 went to savings this month along with paying off all that debt. I love how our money is working FOR us rather than against us!

What we’ve saved:

Month Saved
September 2011 $2186.34

December 2011

July 2012
GOAL AUGUST 2012 $20,000

We’ve set a goal of $20,000 in our emergency fund & we hope to achieve it by August 2012! (or sooner)

We got a neat little letter in the mail the other day… notice the part about paid in full. πŸ™‚ Eeek!

The rich rule over the poor, and the borrow is slave to the lender. Proverbs 22:7
Fully Satisfied, thank you Lord!

And then we got another letter… I’m so glad they’ve noticed we haven’t been using a credit card! Looks like it’s time to CLOSE IT! πŸ™‚

I’m so proud of our yard signs! You get 3 in an order so since we’re on a corner lot we were able to use all 3!
