Zoie Amaya
6 Months old today!
This is all about you as a 5 month old (as of 2.06.16)
19lbs 26 1/4″
Breastfeeding:
You are a great nurser but you want to eat on your own terms. If I try to time your feedings before we go somewhere and you are not ready to eat then you’ll suck a little then pull off, over & over. Good thing I’m pretty flexible & don’t mind nursing wherever. You don’t take a pacifier so you prefer to comfort nurse a little more than Jonah did but not as much as Jaidan. While I’m at work daddy gives you a bottle and he says you eat soooo sloww and then only take a couple ounces each time. Ohhh something annoying that you do. When you are nursing you try to suck your finger too. You slip your little finger next to my nipple and it feels like a bite. ouch!
Sleeping:
You sleep great at night but I think we are realizing you may be our early riser. We’ll need to fix that! lol. You’ve had a couple of rough nights maybe because of teething? No signs of any teeth yet but you are chewing like crazy and get mad about it. You like your wooden teething ring we got you for Christmas and you have a couple fridge teethers. We are using the night teething tablets and I think they really help. You start off in your rock n play until you wake up and then I take & feed you and you drift right back to sleep. If you wake up after that daddy takes you because he can get you back to sleep easier. I do the middle of the night stuff but he will get up early when you wake up. If I see even a peak of light outside I cannot go back to sleep and he could sleep through a tornado so it’s easier for him to get up with you. So sweet too.
Diaper Duty:
This is our second month of doing cloth diapers with you and they are working out good. We’ve always kind of made fun of wipe warmers because we’re like seriously? Baby can take a cold wipe. Well whenever I wipe you with the cold wipe it makes you laugh!! It is so funny it makes me laugh too. In your face wipe warmers!
Clothing:
You are in 6-9 month clothing. 9 or 12 month sleepers. We actually need to get you some more sleepers because we are down to only a couple again. You just shot through all the sizes of clothes super quick like your brothers did. Some of the cute little leggings I have to get in 12 months because they are meant to be tight but you my girl have some chunky thighs. They are luscious! 🙂
Developmentally:
You are practicing and sitting by yourself!
You love tummy time and rolling and scooting around on the floor. ANNND… You are almost crawling. What the what?! Feb 13th you got up in a push up position and ever since you’ve been on your hands and knees and hands and feet and you even have blisters on both of your big toes! I’m really not ready for that. In every way. We wanted to have the loft finished in the playroom before then so all the little Legos and things are up off the floor. We still have some time but we’ll see.
I’ve always thought you were quiet and I remember a couple months ago Amanda heard you cry and she was like really? THAT’s her cry? Haha. She thought you sounded like a baby pterodactyl. You are a bit louder now when you cry but you are a pretty quiet thing. I’m surprised you are not babbling or squealing yet. You smile huge with your mouth open and you laugh out loud just at the sight of your brothers but that’s about it. 🙂
Mama of THREE:
It’s amazing. I sometimes get comments about “all” the kids I have. I’m thinking it’s only 3! But it’s also THREE! I feel SO grateful thankful and blessed to be able to raise 3 adorable little people.
Big Brother’s Jaidan & Jonah:
Jonah really only pays attention to you on his terms. And he really likes to “share” your toys meaning he will take them and play with them for you.
Jaidan absolutely adores you and has been wanting to pick you up by himself. Correction, he now picks you up by himself. Every time I turn around he’s carrying you to another room in the house. (despite my wishes of not wanting him to)
Valentine‘s Day!
We worked the nursery at church Valentine’s Day morning. We got all 3 of yall Dr. Seuss books and read them together when we got home.
