Jared planned an ’emergency’ getaway to Fredericksburg this past weekend. Don’t worry my fellow FPU’ers, that doesn’t mean we used our emergency fund. After a couple crazy weeks of work and then just crazy ME we needed to get away and de-stress! The awesomeness we call nature can do just that! The grandparents shared the kid and off we went. 2 adults… 4.5 hours away… nothing but nature… okay and a really nice cabin…
Hiking up Enchanted Rock…
I was so excited to do this, just a little concerned about my already sore calf muscles from walking the stairs 2 days before. I had to really stretch them out and it wasn’t so bad going up as it was coming back down. I laughed practically the WHOLE WAY DOWN because I couldn’t even walk right. Every step I tripped. Too bad you couldn’t see it. It was hilarious. We had so much fun.
I knew about a cave here and thought we could go check it out. It says entrance but umm… where?!?!
In that tiny spot… are you kidding me?!!?
Okay so the first part is not to bad once you’re inside…
Look at me… in a cave… woohoo…
I’m SOoOoO glad we did NOT bring a flashlight because someone would have tried to persuade me to go into this hole for the rest of the cave. It was deep and far and you had to crawl… umm, yeah a real cave. Not my idea of fun. LOL. So this is where we stopped.
We went back to the top and enjoyed a snack before trekking back down.
We actually forgot to bring a backpack of some sort so we stopped at Walmart in town and picked this thing up for $7. We were really pleased with it and we will leave it in the truck for future need.
Our Night Out…
We came back and got cleaned up to go into town. We were going to walk around the shops, go have dinner and then Jared had reservations for us somewhere.
We cleaned up quite nice… oh and this shirt Jared has on… hehe… He forgot his button up at home so we had to stop somewhere to get him a shirt. We stopped into Bealls and we found this one on clearance for $12. After the lady rang up a 40% off thing and a 20% off coupon the total came to $5 and some change. 🙂 Love it when that happens!!
this is where we were going to eat dinner…
but we were SOOOO hungry we decided to go somewhere else since it wasn’t opened yet. (This was my hungry face, but it was Jared’s ‘not another picture’ face) LOL
We ended up at Bejas Grill and it so SOoOoO delicious!! We had these chicken enchiladas & guacamole.
Our last stop for the night was to ROCKBOX THEATER for some MUSIC. It was AWESOME!
It was a blast. CLICK HERE to see the rest of our getaway pictures.
