It’s been WAY too long…
June 23, 2010

Wow, what a horrible blogger I’ve been lately. Would you believe me if I said I’ve been BUSY!! And of course my internet was broken there for a while so that sucked.

My extra time has been going into Jaidan’s 1st year planning. I’m making a slideshow, TRYING my hardest to complete his scrapbook (before his birthday- ambitious, I know. :)), and planning his party because it is in 44 days! We’ve also had a set back with his pictures!! You know how I am with my pictures. Our photographer took Jaidan’s 9 month pictures on May 4th… well my sweet baby is almost 11 months old and we have YET to see any 9 month pictures. 🙁 I am so sad! I planned on using them for his invitations and the scrapbook that I need completed. UGH!! I’m really not sure what is going on with our photographer. She said ‘give me 10 days’… maybe she thought she told me 10 months?? We’ve called, texted, left messages… replied to her FB posts (so yes she is still alive!)

SOOO now I’m on the hunt for another photographer!! I need to set up his 1 year photoshoot!! And I was planning on doing like a ‘mini shoot’ on his actual birthday, just some pictures to get printed for his party… and then hire someone to take pictures at his party. Well his party is on a Saturday & most photographers already have weddings planned. I found a photographer that I really love but she has a wedding that Saturday. 🙁 So now I’m thinking I will just do the 2 hour photoshoot on his actual birthday with the photographer I really love. Then for his party I can see if there are any ‘aspiring photographers’ that want to add to their portfolio, they can come take pictures at his party. Hey they get free lunch and cake. 😛 Know anyone??

And seriously, I need to take the whole month of July off work if I want to complete his scrapbook. It’s with my new digital scrap booking software that I love so much! I’m making some pages that I’m pretty proud of. I’m so glad I went digital! I’m able to take my laptop to work and get a spread done on my lunch break. 🙂

So I decided I would take Jaidan out for a little photo shoot to get some pictures for his invitations. I need someone to slap me when I have a bad idea because Jared lets my imagination run away with me. Tonight after dinner we loaded up in the truck and went down to Rio. (It’s only like 30ish minutes but there is NOTHING on the way, and NOTHING there so it seems like longer) Jared’s brother got his senior pictures done around town there & they were pretty neat. There is this cool truck in one of his pictures. Jared was on the phone with his brother trying to find the exact location. We turn into this field where the truck was supposed to be. We drive a little bit into the brush and there was no way we were getting out of the truck. Everything is all grown up around it and no telling what was in there. So I’m like okay, old truck… gotta be another one of those around here somewhere. Across the street is a … junk yard? Tire shop? I’m not sure. So we drove over to this old truck that I thought looked pretty cool. I beg Jared to just “go over there real quick” because “we didn’t come all the way out here for nothing”. We kept hearing this weird chain noise and it Jared peered around a bunch of junk and said it’s a dog. Well, I get the mother of the year award for running as fast as I can to the truck while leaving Jared and Jaidan to… Idk… run too? Once in the truck we realize someone lived in this tiny old travel trailer and the dog was chained to something. Then we saw an old guy with his shirt off. It seriously reminded me of the movie the Hills have eyes or something. So creepy. We drove closer back to the street and I thought well I can just get some pictures by these cool colored tires leaning up against a tree. Jared was ready to leave but I was determined to get something good. This is where someone should have slapped me (again) because we got bombarded by mosquitos!! Since you just listened to my long rambling story I don’t have to tell you that the night was a FAIL. 🙁 But for days like these at least we can look back and laugh about it.
