Hey!!! It’s been a million years since I’ve been on here it feels like! Tonight is Amanda’s wedding rehearsal/dinner and tomorrow is the wedding! It’s finally here! But that’s not what I wanted to talk about…
This is the first month that has been fully funded at the beginning of the month! It’s the 2nd month that we had some money at the start of it. What a relief. This is a much better feeling than wondering when the money was coming or where it was coming from. Jared has been doing awesome at his work and he loves every bit of it. He also should have more money for June BEFORE we go on our vacation. I love how God just works every little detail out.
It’s May! Not quite the middle of the year but I wanted to run some numbers by you to get a good perpective of how the envelope system/saving money helps. If you know all of this already then shame on your for not letting me know about it sooner!! haha.
At the company I work for we used to get end of year bonuses and that’s how we would pay for christmas. Starting Jan 1 2011 our company benefits changed due to the merger with Exxon Mobil & among other sad things we will no longer be getting bonuses. 🙁 This means we will have to have a christmas sinking fund! I’ve tried to get my coworkers to do the same, but they have yet to listen. I’m all but begging them because I know how great it will feel come Christmas time!
Since January to now we have $600 saved up for christmas. (By December we will have saved $1440)Christmas will NOT be sneaking up on US this year! 😉
We need a new vehicle soon and for that we have $2400 saved up (since October 2010)
We now have to pay for my insurance and it’s expensive! I have $1250 saved up since January for that.
So not only are we able to pay off all this debt, but our couple of sinking funds are well on their way to helping us out when we need them. I love seeing where our money goes instead of wondering where it went! 🙂
