This ‘n That
March 11, 2010

Some days I feel like writing everything I know, other days I do not. I think today is one of those ‘tell-all’ days.

BLW: Well we were getting better with foods I thought. He sucked on a broccoli the other day and a couple mornings ago he gummed a pancake and tasted his banana. I guess he just really has to be in the right mood for food. The past couple nights for dinner when we put him in his seat he ‘complains’. He gets crazy and wants nothing to do with food! I don’t get it… he ate half of a magazine the other day, but wont put food in his mouth. I guess it’s just a phase & he will one day just eat everything on his tray.

Tonight was spaghetti and zucchini. (Sooo yummy) And last night was curry chicken. It was pretty good so I must not keep a goodrecipe to myself!

Curry Chicken

1/2 C butter, melted
1/4 C honey
1/4 C mustard
1 tsp. curry powder
1 tsp. salt
4-6 chicken breast

Mix all the ingredients together and pour over chicken. (in casserole dish) Cook in a 350* oven for 30-45 minutes, basting the chicken every 15 minutes with the juice in the dish. (Recipe courtesy of Birdie from BBC)

Curry Chicken, couscous, & broc

Curry Chicken, couscous, & broc

We had this with couscous, steamed broccoli & strawberry/blueberry parfaits. DeLish!

We rearranged Jared’s work schedule. That’s the great thing about being your own boss, flexible schedule as needed. My mom has Jaidan Mon & Fri’s, I have him Tues and Wed’s and Jared has him on Thursdays. The new schedule gave Jared more time with Jaidan and gave my mom more freedom too. Although now her ‘freedom’ will be spent volunteering at one of the kids schools. That’s just her!

One of my favorite places, JJ Mochas, will be closing earlier (6pm) starting April 1st. I’ve only been there during lunch hours but I wish they had more people supporting them! It’s the cutest lil coffee shop with the BEST chicken salad sandwiches! Their tomato basil soup is exellent and whatever Jared gets from there is yummy too because he gave me a bite once. They also have the fun flavored coffee drinks like starbucks! If you live in the area or ever pass through stop there for lunch! You wont be disappointed!

Jaidan was supposed to get his blood drawn today for the ‘family specific genetic test’… it didn’t happen because on the way there the car died so Jared and Jaidan were stuck on the freeway for a while. I took the truck to work this morning because the car was out of gas so they were stuck with the car. I’ ve been really grateful to use it but I hate that car! So I printed out the bus schedule & that will be my new means of transportation to/from work. I don’t mind it. I’ve never used the bus before so it’s like a new adventure to me! And I guess we will be taking Jaidan to do the blood draw on Saturday instead.
