We first learned of Dave coming local to our area when we were waist high in debt & figured seeing him live would be the last little punch to get us through the final couple months of our debt snowball. AND we wanted to buy our parents tickets for the opportunity to be introduced to Dave’s principles as well. Only my mom and step-dad ended up being able to come and I invited one of my sisters, my friend, neighbor (that has been doing FPU for 3 years now) and a couple that are in our FPU class right now.
He has actually been on tour for his new Entreleadership book (Super awesome book btw, totally recommend although I’m not even halfway through it yet) but we were there for his Total Money Makeover event.
Funny story… A couple in our Sunday school class got 4 VIP tickets to Dave Live. They already had tickets so they gave us the other 2 VIP and they kept the other 2 VIP and gave away there original 2. Well then we were left with our original two to give away as well. (We gave them to the couple in our current FPU class) My sister, friend and neighbor were also with us but they were going in ahead of us to get their seats in the regular section. Me and Jared start to walk away and we hear my neighbor (far right) squealing (former cheer-leader, ha!). She had known what radio station Dave is on so they were upgraded to VIP and got their picture taken for the website! So we were all able to sit together after all!
Dave Live was awesome! It felt much different hearing all this stuff while in baby step 3 rather than 2. It still pumps me up… especially for my friends and family that are shoveling out their debt & moving on to bigger and better baby steps. 🙂 We actually won a shirt and $5 starbucks gift card at the event!
OOOH… and be totally jealous because I got to meet Rachel Cruze (FKA Rachel Ramsey). She was actually excited to meet me and Nicole together because apparently her name is Rachel Nicole! 🙂 Rachel is a speaker geared toward high school seniors and college freshman. She is very passionate about getting the info out there about staying debt free and living on less than you make. My sister, Ally, bought one of her booklets/DVDs. Go Ally!
