My couponing success
June 15, 2011

Since I’m no longer (as of right now) on facebook, I thought I’d share my couponing success here on my blog. 🙂

I first got started in couponing back in December. I have no idea how, but somehow I came across the krazy coupon lady. My mom got me her book, “Pick Another Checkout Lane, Honey” and it was love at first site. Since then, I’ve really only been doing household items and some food items. I’m no where near as extreme as the people on Extreme Couponing, but it’s a start. I hear a lot of bad things about the t.v. show, but I saw a couple episodes while on vacation and I don’t see anything wrong with it. Couponing is a lot of work and I have more respect for someone that works hard at something rather than the alternative. (Lazy people that want something for nothing)

I feel couponing is a part of my job as wife/mom and it’s consistently been saving us at least $100 a month to put toward debt… not to mention we get to have things that we wouldn’t normally have. Like Ella gets kitty treats now because we get them for either super cheap or free. yay for kitty! lol. I couldn’t imagine paying full price for something anymore. I seriously love coupons! And you will too after you see what I’ve been able to buy for either free or cheap. 🙂 Take a look….

My very first coupon experience, I was pretty proud. Spent $2.66

Spent $5, that's a dollar a piece!

I think the total on this one was $9, I love cinnamon toast waffles! 🙂

This stuff was free! 🙂

The razor was $2.99 the face stuff was $1.19

I spent $5.34 & yes that's 2 pair of jeans there also! Thank you Target!

I spent 39 cents to feed my cat and have nice smelling laundry!

F R E E !!!

Spent $6.92 for 8 bottles of vitamins!

$6.30 We got to try a new cereal!

This was part of the previous purchase. I put it in the fridge before I took the picture.

I spent $1.39. See!! Isn't this fun!!

$3.04 That's a lot of body wash!!

Spent $10.15 Pizza Party Anyone?

Retail value of this stuff was $192 and I paid $49

Spent $1.57. The overage from the formula paid for my fruit!

Spent $8.77

Spent $2.78 on this one

$3.30 for the brownies

$5.82 That's a lot of olive oil!!

Spent $7.39

Spent $10.28

Spent $16.79

Retail value is $40.53, I spent $6.30!

And my most recent purchase are these table cloths for Jaidan’s birthday party in a few weeks… A new (huge) party place came into town so our small party place sent out $5 coupons to use on anything in the store. I ended up with 2 of them and this is what I bought.

Got these for 80 cents total!

I don’t take a picture of everything I buy. We’ve been shopping at Walmart for our groceries just so we can price match the sales from other stores and that’s really been saving us money even though we both are not a huge fan of Walmart. I think we will make a trip back down to the produce stand now that it’s summer again & see how pricing works out for us there.

Me and Jared tag-team cleaned the house last night so today me and Jaidan get to do fun things!! We are making his thank you cards for his party and maybe a few other decorating things for his party! yay!
