Reading Goals: January & February
March 1, 2012

One of my goals for this year is to read 1 book a month. I love to read but rarely make time for it so I hand picked these 12 books to help me stick to my goal.

January

I started with Unconditional Parenting as my first book because we were feeling in limbo about disciple with the little guy.  After reading this we are definitely feeling more confident in our approach. There is a TON of parenting advice out there and not everything will work for every family. You must keep the personality of your child in mind and also (something I think a lot of people forget to include) what is age appropriate!  And as with everything keep an open mind and a cautious heart!

I wanted to include a little review of what we learned but I didn’t take notes as I went along & now someone else is borrowing the book. If you are interested in reading this at all just check out the reviews on amazon. I like to look at the 1 star ratings as well as the 5 to get both sides. A negative review is not always a bad thing just as a positive review is not always a good thing.

I don’t agree with everything in this book, but I gained much insight and love the new perspective!

February

I really enjoyed Bringing Up Boys. Who knew boys were so different from girls!? I love to encourage the little guy to be his curious self. I really liked what he had to say about homeschooling!

I would recommend this book!

March

And now for March I’m starting Simplicity Parenting! I’ll let you know how it goes!

I love photography, organizing, making photo books, homeschooling my kids & learning about natural living.
