Jotting to Jonah- 3 Months old
March 5, 2014

 3 Months old!

fun 053

(as of Sept 23, 2013)

 16lbs 6oz
25.5″

I have decided to start ‘Jotting to Jonah’ for your monthly updates. They are letters to you that I can print and give to you or just let you read the blog. It all goes by SO FAST I can barely keep up but I know I have so much I will want to remember about these wee tiny days/months and years about you. So here it is…

Breastfeeding

Nursing you is not at all like I had imagined. It’s not bad, you are just a quick/efficient nurser. And I think you are just now getting the hang of it as far as not choking when my milk lets down. I’m trying to think when will you ever care about some of this stuff but maybe when you are old enough to have your own kids your wife may want to read these. lol.

After talking to nurses at the pediatricians office and other people we decided to take you to an allergist. Dr. Shay (allergist) said you have one of the most allergic looking faces he’s seen in a baby and that it’s something that I’m eating. I’m willing to bet he doesn’t see that many babies so I’m sure your face isn’t that bad but thanks Doc! ha! He, along with everyone else said to cut out dairy first. I did get conflicting info about how long to cut out dairy but after 2 weeks of me being no dairy you were doing sooo much better! Your symptoms had been VERY congested, mucousy spit up and a lot of it. We had to suction you (thank you nose frida!) about 8-10 times a day. 🙁 We were using essential oils and saline nose drops and constantly sucking but nothing was getting better, it was only treating the symptom. After 2 weeks of no dairy we didn’t have to suck your nose not once, spit up was soooo much less & your allergic looking face no longer had the lines and puffiness.

 Sleeping

You are still the best little sleeper ever. You are weighing down the pack and play but we are looking for a used crib for you. I want a white one. We were trying to decide to get you a crib or give you Jaidan’s crib and move him to something else, but we decided him staying in his toddler bed is the best option for now. Jaidan is such a roller and crazy sleeper. He hits his head on the bed almost every night. lol.

Diaper Duty

You have completely grown out of your prefold stash of cloth diapers. Well we have more prefolds but no more covers! They were not my favorite anyway, but I did say I wanted to try them so you can’t blame me for trying! I’ll just sell those and wait for a good deal on some elementals or something. We keep disposables just in case and you are a size 3 now! I think that’s the size most babies stay in the longest anyhow. But you are so big ahhh!!

Clothing

4s 118

Speaking of big… you are just a big baby. Okay, I’ll stop saying that now. lol. You are in 6 month clothing. I promise you just skipped 3-6 month. Your 6 month sleepers are just barely fitting you anymore too!! I have been really wanting to buy you clothes too. Just because I love baby clothes and especially new cute ones. Your daddy let me buy you BABY LEGS which yes are leg warmers but he has never been a fan of them for boys. He gave me the go ahead so YaY! They are so cute! And don’t worry you still look handsome.

Developmentally

Around week 2 of month 3 you started grabbing for your feet! You would stare at them and then try to grab them. Most healthy babies will reach these milestones so I know it seems silly but I’m loving noticing every thing about you. This was even a couple weeks before Jaidan did it. I mean nothing bad by comparing you to your brother. I love noticing yalls difference and love each of them. So after your feet came grabbing for objects and pulling them to your mouth. You also started ROLLING! (On Oct 15th) From your back to your belly. You’ve got strong stomach muscles and will not stay on your back if we lay you down.

Mama of TWO

It’s interesting. Hopefully it gets easier because Jaidan has just been a handful lately.

Big Brother, Jaidan

 Other Randomness

Your hair is growing back!
Your skin is super sensitive so anytime you touch something with chemicals or something your skin gets redness and/or whelps. We have stopped using most products with chemicals and switched to essential oils instead. Bath and body works products are a no-no around our house! We were slowly switching anyway so you helped give us the last push forward!
You are the most relaxed/chill/content baby.

**I’ll be posting everyday this week in hopes to play catch up with my monthly updates! 🙂
